This year I’m trying to read more of what’s already on my shelves, but my friend @sarahesmaewolfe dropped @booksandlala’s 2022 Reading Challenge – The Buzzwordathon in my path instead. Check out her video explanation here.
My Physical and Digital TBR combined is almost 100 books so the goal is to mostly use my books for the prompts but I’ve run into a snag on some of the months! I’d love it if y’all would drop some Kindle Unlimited or common library books that match the prompts in the comments!

January – the 5w’s
I only had one book that fit this prompt on my list. Adulting: How To Become a Grown-Up in 468 Easy(ish) Steps. As it is a non-fiction book it will probably take me the whole month to read it. The cover is super adorable with a lady, her cat, and an old pizza.
February – pronouns
I’m going to be reading Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper. The story of a young girl with Ceperal Palsy trying to escape the limitations of her body that keep her amazing brain trapped inside. I have a feeling this one will make me cry and cringe at the same time. It’s written for middle schoolers hence the cringe but will be super relatable due to my journey with chronic illnesses.
March – locations
March depends on what I feel like reading as I have plenty of options!
- Ressurection Road by Hannah Marae
- Welcome to Night Vale by Joseph Fink and Jeffery Kramer
- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
- Tyrant’s Tomb by Rick Riordan
- Kingdom of the Wicked & Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco
April – big & little
As a child, I skipped most of the early readers in favor of Middle-Grade novels and missed out on a lot of childhood classics. I’ve been trying to make up for that with a few children’s books here and there. For April I have chosen The BFG by Roald Dahl.
May – directions
What direction shall we go, hmm? Only time will tell.
- Rise of the Dragons by Morgan Rice
- Away We Go by Emil Ostroviski
- Dreams lie Beneath by Rebecca Ross

June – “all”
Surprisingly my shelves do not have any books with the word “all” but I’m hoping my library or KU will have one of these. Or if y’all have suggestions?
- All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace
- All Fall Down by Ally Carter
- All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

July – book-related words
I will most likely read The Lost Book of the White by Cassandra Clare. I think I’m going to love reading this book but I keep putting it off because I’m worried I’ll be disappointed.
The other two options are:
- Fable by Adriene Young
- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
August – items
This month will have so many options because it is very common to have an object in the title of the book.
- Chain of Gold/Iron by Cassandra Clare
- The Gilded Cage by Lucinda Gray
- Balcony of Fog by Rich Shapero
- Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
September – light & dark
Choices, oh choices…
- This Raging Light by Estelle Laure
- Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska
- Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer
- Starflight/Starfall by Melissa Landers
- Dark Days Club/Pact by Alison Goodman
October – creatures & animals
This list is a bit smaller than expected:
- An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
- Hawk by James Patterson
- Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
November – “ing”
Surprisingly I only have one on my TBR that has “-ing” in it. (excluding the January book of course). Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent.

December – numbers
I’m very excited to read this book so I doubt I’ll wait for December to read it but the only book with a number I had was Seven Crowns by E.V. Everest.
