I’m not who you want me to be – Asher Ferguson

I’m not who you want me to be

Turn me into a puppet
I’ll do as I’m told
Perform your little dance,
Watch the story unfold

You don’t love me for me,
Only what I can do.
You don’t want me as myself,
Only a copy of you.

So I’ll put on a mask-
Go and make you proud,
Set my ambition aside,
I’ll be a face in the crowd
